Being a commerce student, I can appreciate the duality of things - debit and credit, the good and the bad. We all know that the world isn’t divided into good people and bad people and that we all have light and dark inside us. What really matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.
What does this mean? It literally means that it is our choices that show us who we truly are, far more than our abilities. Just because I’m good at something doesn’t mean that I will excel in it even if I choose to be lazy.
Speaking of choices, we all must face the choice between what is right and what is easy. As far as possible, we need to stick to the choice that is right. Imagine what difference it will make to a blind person if you choose to help them cross the road instead of choosing to ignore them.
What I’m trying to say is what really matters at the end of the day is the choices that we make. No matter who we are or what abilities we posses, these choices coupled with the right intentions will definitely help us walk the road of success. Choose the light in you. Choose not to be lazy. And choose what is right.
Something I wrote a while back for school but kind of relevant now that loads of my friends and I are entering college. Seems a bit philosophical but we are all faced with choices everyday. So do try and be a bit more conscious about the effects of your choices.
